Depending on the number of entries received, the event can take one of several formats…
1. If over 30 entries, McCYC will run 5 races over two consecutive days of a weekend with all domestic sailing suspended to focus solely on this regatta. Day 1 racing will commence at 1330 hours (to allow competitors to travel, arrive and rig if choosing to do so on the day.) Two races on a triangle-windward/return to be run. Day 2 racing will commence at 1030 hours with the same course configuration. Three races to be run with Presentation to follow. Race times for the first competitor aimed at 40 minutes. A competitors worst score to be dropped at the completion of 4 races.
2. If fewer than 30 entries, McCYC will incorporate Day 1 of the regatta (1430 start) into the domestic race programme by adding relevant divisions to the start sequence. (IE – Club divisions will start in 3 minute intervals followed by P&ESG Divisions). Day two will follow as per option 1. The club has the capacity to host a social even on the Saturday night at individual additional expense.
3. The Club will also offer 8 boats (6 monohull “Pacers” and 2 Catamaran “Hobies” for lease with a view to increase participation by competitors who don’t currently own a boat.
This is not a teams event. Medals (First, Second and Third places) will be awarded for each of the four
Divisions as follows:
Division 1: Multihulls – Yardstick 77 and under
Division 2: Multihulls – Yardstick over 77
Division 3: Monohulls – Yardstick 99 and under
Division 4: Monohulls – Yardstick over 99
Division definitions may change based on types and numbers of classes entered.
As per traditional Notice of Race (NOR) which is the usual and expected format
