Description – Triathlon
Sprint Triathlon – 750m Open Water Swim, 18.75km Cycle, 5km Run
Enticer Triathlon – 400m Open Water Swim, 12.5km Cycle, 3km Run
The Event
The VPESG 2026 Triathlon will be incorporated into the Western Suburbs Triathlon Club Triathlon Event, Altona. (http://www.wstc.org.au/)
Event Entry Process
All VPES Games Triathlon competitors are required to first register via the “REGISTER NOW” tab above where you will be asked to register your details and pay the mandatory $10 Games general registration fee. Next, in the “Sport Selection” step you can select “Triathlon”, and you will be presented with the options “Sprint” or “Enticer”.
After making your selection you will be provided further instructions and a direct link to register and pay via the Western Suburbs Triathlon Club event registration portal.
You can click the link, and it will open in a separate window permitting you to complete any other VPES Games sport selections (if you wish) and finalise your registration/s in our VPESG registration portal, then you can complete your external Triathlon registration separately in the WSTC event registration portal by selecting the “Non-Member Entry” button.

Post Event Activities
A separate event presentation for VPESG Competitors in the Sprint and Enticer events for each gender and age group category will take place at the HW Lee Reserve (opposite the race transition zone) 15-30 minutes after the last competitor has finished the event.

Venue, Date & Time
Date: Sunday 15th November 2026.
Time: The first event commences at 0730 hrs. Registration from 0630 hrs & Briefing from 0700 hrs
Venue: Altona Beach, Altona Victoria.
- The start is at the east of the corner of the Esplanade and Pier St. The race consists of a swim around the pier at Altona beach, then a multi-loop bike ride on the Esplanade, finishing with a run along the Esplanade pathway.
Facilities
Entrant Assembly Area – Emergency Services Games entrants can assemble at a Small open air pavilion in the HW Lee Reserve opposite the race transition zone
Parking – Esplanade, Pier Street, Weaver Reserve and Logan Reserve.
Toilets & Changeroom – Female and Male toilets and changerooms on the main beach there is a toilet block with beach showers and when you cross the road there is another block with toilets, change rooms (Altona Beach Public Toilets)
Food & Hydration – Competitors are responsible for own hydration and can store hydration & food products at the transition area.
Special Instructions
Event Rules
You are required to register both in the VPES Games Portal and in the WSTC event portal and pay online for this event.
Your entry fee includes race day only insurance coverage provided by Triathlon Australia
You can wear wetsuits but no other swimming aids
Your bike must be in safe working order, and you must wear an Australian Safety Standards approved helmet. WSTC officials will check your bike and helmet on entry to the triathlon transition zone.
