TThis event will be held on Wednesday 17th (Open & Mixed) & Thursday 18th March (Veterans) 2021 at 0900 hours start until approximately 1700hrs.
The venue for this event will be Myers Reserve, Bluestone Bridge Rd, Bell Post Hill. Participants will be contacted by the Sport Co-ordinator before the start of the event if there is any change.
4 x grass pitches will be used. There are toilets, change facilities and showers available. The Geelong Rangers Soccer Club will be operating a canteen which will be open all day and can cater for a wide variety of dietary requirements. Competitors are requested to use the canteen for all food and beverage purchases throughout the day to support the local club. There is plenty of car-parking available at the venue.
The competition is a seven-a-side, outdoor event, played on grass half size playing fields. Rules will be similar to previous event rules and will be forwarded to team captains as soon as the league has been finalised. A strictly limited number of teams will be allowed, so teams should register as soon as possible. Teams must register a minimum of seven players to be accepted into the competition.
Teams participating in the Mixed event must have a minimum of two female players registered and must field a minimum of two female players at all times. If a team cannot field two female players during a game (due to injury etc), that team must play with a corresponding lesser number of players (i.e. if a team only has one female player available for a game, that team must play that game with 1 female player and a total of not more than six-a-side).
The Veterans competition will be for players who are 40 years or over on 18th March, 2020. There is an exception for a designated goalkeeper, who may be 35 years or over on that date. An ‘underage’ designated goalkeeper may not play in an outfield position.
A limited number of teams will be accepted to ensure optimum playing time. Entries will be accepted on a “first in best dressed” basis and late entries will not be considered.
