It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the 2021 Victoria Police and Emergency Services Games in Greater Geelong.
This year’s event is particularly special, given it marks the 40th anniversary since the games started and is also the first since the pandemic forced the 2020 event to be cancelled.
Emergency services play an incredibly important role in our community, which is why the City of Greater Geelong is proud to support this event through Geelong Major Events funding.
It’s terrific that so many personnel have come to our region to enjoy each other’s company and take part in some healthy competition.
With our north-facing bay, famous surf beaches, bushland and unique arts and culture scene, there’s so much to discover during your stay here.
I recommend heading for a drink at one of our many wineries, going for a dip at Ocean Grove beach, exploring the shops and galleries in the CBD and stretching your legs in the You Yangs Regional Park.
Sportsmanship, resilience and determination will once again be on show at this year’s event and we look forward to the spectacle.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy your time here!
CR STEPHANIE ASHER
Mayor,
